Description
1970 KAWASAKI H1 500cc TRIPLE.
This is a US Import 1970 model/year H1 Triple. Manufactured in Nov 1968. Frame # KAF 0804xx Engine # KAE 085xx
It has been "sympathetically" restored to original condition.
Motor : Stripped. inspected. rebuilt with new Crank. all seals and gaskets. It has original Bridgeport cylinders and Kawasaki pistons on first oversize. Gears and clutch are original. and in fine condition. The engine cases and top-end were soda-blasted and vibratory polished. So very clean and shiny ! Carbs are correct "window" type. again cleaned and fitted with new jets. eedles and gaskets.
Ignition system is original and untouched. Wiring loom is a new replica one.
Chassis: All black stuff has been powdercoated. Outer cases are coated in grey.
Wheels are original rims that were on bike - rechromed. Stainless spokes and hubs have been polished. New wheel bearings. Brake Shoes relined by Safetek. Other parts. Seat base coated. new sponge and cover. Paintwork is very recent. matched to o. e. m colour and painted by same method ( Base/sparkle/candy/clear lacquer as opposed to a car-style 2 pack job ) Speedo and rev counter have been restored. redamped and reset to zero. All cables are new grey replicas. New Avon Roadrunner tyres. Chromework has been redone also. Petrol Tap is a replica on/off/reserve type. You can have the o. e. m. vacuum type tap with the bike. I couldn`t eradicate a little drip from it till now. So fitted a "safer" one!
Most people will be ecstatic with this bike. She has been done to a nice useable standard. She is not however a showbike. you could get on your hands and knees and trainspot faults as if you were a concours Judge. ( Like there are some tiny pitting marks in the chrome. Caused by carefully not overpolishing 40yr old metal! etc. ) But then again. We are not asking show bike prices ?!
Bike has all her import duties paid. and is mot`d and currently awaiting her age related plate and Historic tax disc from the DVLA. This all comes in with the purchase price. and also means she would be easily re-registered to another European Country.
I will be taking this bike to Stafford Show if she does not sell before that. So she will also be available for viewing on the Triples Workshop Stand # 425 in the Prestwood Hall.
