Description
Suzuki RGV500 / 400. This is my lovely project bike that is going up for sale. only to fund my new car. I have had many special bikes over the years ( Honda RC30. Yamaha R7. MV Agusta 750S America etc. etc. But I always had a dream of building my own special ! It all started around 5 years ago when I purchased a Suzuki RG400 from a guy I work with. It was a very little used bike that he had owned for many years. Also being low mileage. around 8500. I then set out to find a nice RGV250. This was purchased from R. A. P motorcycles in London. £2499. It was an import from Italy and not seeing any of our crap weather and road salt !
Special parts were purchased from Mark Drysdale in Canada. Engine mounting kit £145. three piece clutch cover £475. shift support £120 and cushion drive £195. PLEASE NOTE THAT I ONLY USED THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT TO ALIGN THE ENGINE TO FRAME. I THEN MADE UP AN ALLUMINIUM CRADDLE TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE ! DONT LIKE THE IDEA OF SUPPORTING THE ENGINE USING HEAD BOLTS ! Please note that I am an engineer by trade.
ENGINE :- Cranks fully rebuilt by Bob Farnham. barrels and heads had a mild tune by Bob. The barrels and heads were like new on standard bores. New genuine pistons. rings etc. were purchased from Crook motorcycles. £450. All bearings. seals and gaskets replased again being Genuine parts. All purchased from Robinsons in Canterbury. New rotary valves and inner and outer housings fitted. again being mildly worked on by Bob. New oil pump fitted. All power valves overhauled with new seals and cables. The gearbox was fully rebuilt with all the mods being done. All new titanium bolts. ( BLOODY EXPENSIVE ! ) So as you can see. a new engine ! PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PARTS IN THE ENGINE ARE RG500. IF YOU HAVE RG500 BARRELS AND HEADS YOU CAN EASILY MACHINE OUT THE CRANKCASE TOPS TO TURN INTO THE 500. Bob would machine this for you. SO DONT BE PUT OFF BY IT BEING A 400 !
CARBS :- Fully cleaned with all internals replaced. New screws. pipes. clips etc. ALL GENUINE SUZUKI !
A set of Mark Dent performance exhausts purchased brand new from him. £1500 !
The front forks. wheel. brakes etc. are GSXR1000 K6. The forks. yoke and brakes were removed from the GSXR at 500 miles old ! Only on the bike to run the engine in before it was turned into a race bike ! The front wheel was purchased brand new. New tyres. new wavey discs back and front. HEL braided hoses. The rear shock is from Nitron. again brand new £575. The front mudguard is Harris. Rear hugger is Tyga. Rizoma indicators all round. Rizoma brake resovoirs. Pingel fuel tap. ITG foam carb filters. Vapour speedo. New top fairing due to a crack around the mirrors £250. I also have a private plate on the bike G5 RGV. ( GAMMA 500 RGV. )
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON ! THIS BIKE OWES ME WELL OVER £10. 00 ! PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL NOT GIVE THIS BABY AWAY ! IT HAS TAKEN UP 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE ! WOULD SOONER SELL MY ARSE ( NO OFFERS PLEASE !)

THE BIKE HAS DONE AROUND 100 MILE SINCE REBUILD SO HAS ANOTHER 400 MILES BEFORE BEING RUN IN. IT WILL THEN REQUIRE TO HAVE A DYNO RUN TO SET UP JET SIZES CORRECTLY. BOB FARNHAM CAN DO THIS OR MARK DENT.
