Description
Hi There and welcome to my very half-hearted effort to sell one of my beautiful Laverda 750's. I now have four. including two similar double drum SF's and could really do with the space. so one may have to go. The picture you are looking at are of the blue 1972 ( tax exempt ) machine. The double drum bikes are quite the prettiest of the twins and they work extremely well. If you want one of the uglier disc braked bikes. this isn't the one for you. sorry It is. of course. numbers matching and is an older restoration in excellent overall condition and perfect running order. The previous owner painted the frame and bodywork. rebuilt the forks. new shocks. all cables changed. wheels vapour blasted and rebuilt with stainless steel spokes fitted to the stupidly rare and expensive correct code Borrani rims ( so beloved of Ducati restorers at £1200 a pair- really!). Tyres are perfect. of course. He also had the instruments and switchgear refurbished by Peter Bond. at vast expense. The speedo now reads in correct MPH increments. but he retained the original odometer recording in KM/H. so the overall mileage is about 14.000. When I bought it. I serviced the motor but still struggled to get it to run cleanly. In the end I fitted a pair of brand new Dellorto carburettors. but have the original VHB units in a box. I also replaced the pattern stainless silencers with exact replicas in chrome ( removable baffles. should you be so inclined). The whole bike looks superb and runs exquisitely. starting instantly. running quietly. with no smoke or scary rattles. The right side gear change is perfect and the clutch neither slips nor drags. All Laverda twins should be like this. accept no substitute! The whole bike has been rewired and a gel battery fitted. It's all perfect.
The SF is beautiful. looks lovely. sounds wonderful and is a joy to ride. I even have the key to the seat hump. and its taxed ( free ) and MOT'd. At the time of construction. Laverda specifications were changing a bit and this bike has ND clocks. Smiths switches and what appears to be a slightly later headlamp. I would guess that the headlamp and shrouds are incorrect ( hey! two out of three ain't bad ) and would have been like the black bike ( my other. unrestored SF). Please allow for this when putting on your anorak. Laverda forum members! ( I'm always watching ;0)
Any questions. e mail. ask on the forum. There's paperwork. old MOT's. receipts etc. Come and view. drink tea and talk bollocks. its all good. as long as you are of the one true faith - Laverda! I even have a m. n with a van for reasonable deliveries in the UK.
