BSA Lightning

1970 BSA Lightning - before they went to the oil in frame model. you'll notice the excellent twin leading front brake. This bike has been totally rebuilt from the crank. con rods and pistons etc. - compliments. & expense of Dave Hopwood - upwards including refurbished speedo & rev counter head ( the proper one. which is 3:1. ) Electronic ignition with recommended dual output coil. in-line yet unobtrusive oil filter. SRM high output oil pump. new tyres. saddle - the list just goes on and you're free to read the file. I've got the correct 1970 fuel tank one on it at present but you can have a choice so I've posted a picture of a big 4. 5 gallon one when I took her to Sweden. Completed just over 1000 miles now and all the irritating 'new build' gremlins are sorted out - it's a 'ride anywhere' bike in complete confidence.

I know it's non-standard but the sound of the siamesed Goldie silencer is fantastic so I'm going to insist that any visits must be during daylight hours just to keep the neighbours off my back. Won a rosette and first prize at a large bike meet last year which was great but I've got another one in the workshop that's just as good and I'm running out of space & the wife's patience
