Description
For sale is my 2010 Yamaha XVS1300 (Midnight Star) with Watsonian Monaco sidecar outfit - with only 10.000 miles on the clock (backed up with a full service history).
I'm the second owner (having purchased her in June 2013 at 2.000miles).
The sidecar was professionally fitted last year (@7k miles) by Watsonian-Squire (in Moreton-in-Marsh) - the full specification of which you can find at their website at
http://www.watsonian-squire.com/sidecars/monaco
(as you'll see. the Rolls Royce of their line-up)
As you would expect from a sidecar manufacturer. the combo has been setup perfectly and handles beautifully (it doesn't pull to one side or want to go off in its own direction like some cheap 'home brew' rig). I originally had the sidecar fitted with a view to using it for camping trips with the kids. rallies. etc. - but (as is the way with kids) they've not taken to it as I expected and it's a shame to be sat idle.
The bike is relatively standard - but does have a few optional extras: Yamaha original pillion back rest. Highway Hawk pannier bars. Yamaha original leather panniers. Stebel Nautilus horn. Car tyre on the rear (see below for info). Optional chrome luggage rack on sidecar. Optional stainless wrap-around crash bar/framework on sidecar. Removable 'hood' for sidecar. Also included with the sale is a spare tyre & tube for the sidecar and a separate second rim (complete with a motorcycle tyre) for the rear of the bike. Currently there's a car tyre on the back of the bike (for extra grip and tyre life longevity as it's always upright - I've seen these last for 20k/miles+!) but I'm also including the spare if you ever want to unhook the sidecar and ride the bike as a solo (which is easy to do - just remove four retaining bolts. disconnect a multi-plug connector. fit two indicator bulbs and swap to the bike tyre).
Everything is in good condition and she runs perfectly. Servicing has been regularly maintained and has wanted for nothing. As for handling (having ridden this bike both with and without the sidecar). I can safely say that you barely notice that it's even there! The 1300cc motor pulls the tub along quite happily.
I only have a limited number of pictures at the minute (these were taken on a rideout at the weekend) - but will en-devour to take some more shortly.
If you have any questions - please ask! Viewing is recommended to fully appreciate this outfit - I'm available most evenings/weekends. just drop me a message.
Finally. test rides are fine - but please I do ask for a deposit in my hand before you ride away (which will obviously be handed back on safe return of the bike) and ask that you are fully insured to ride. I realize this sounds harsh - but it is my insurance on the line otherwise!
