Description
Here for sale is my lovely old BSA A65. one of the last and best of the pre-oil in frame models. UK bike and matching numbers. It was completely rebuilt about 4 years ago and has had all of the original Dunlop and Jones rims and running gear rechromed and been painted in the original red. All alloy is good too and everything works well. Even new tyres. The only oddity is one glass fibre and one metal side panel - did not worry me. Since owning it I have fitted a new UK supplied top quality speedo drive and replica speedo (steady needle!) and a new air filter and housing. The engine is a testimony to the builder. great pressure and return and barely wet sumps unless left for two or three months. Original Smiths speedo. drive and filter go with bike. Bike runs well and is a joy to behold in red and chrome - the bike I had always hankered after when i had a Starfire as a lad! By the MoTs and speedo readings and according to the chap I bought it from who was a close friend of the rebuilder who sadly passed away a while after he'd finished it (and bought it from his son) it has probably only done around 1500 miles since it was redone
Reluctant sale as riding the bike plays up my back and shoulder injuries. so I have only done short trips around the area over the last year and less than 400 - 500 miles in all. Diagnosed with osteoarthritis in spine and shoulders before Christmas. If I don't get the right price it can go in the living room in a glass case until the NHS rebuild me!
