1968 Triumph TR6R (Trophy Sports)
Please read entire ad before asking questions.
This Triumph 650 was found at a local estate sale. It is a very original and unmolested example of a late 1960's Triumph 650. Arguably the best looking motorcycles ever made.
This bike kicks over with good compression and appears to be in amazing original condition. It is presented here exactly as I found it, dust, dirt, and all. I have a clean Tennessee title in my name that will transfer to the buyer. I do not have a key for this bike. The previous owner was deceased and the family could not find the key.
Obviously, there is oxidation, wear and tear, etc., but these bikes are becoming increasingly rare in unmolested, unrestored condition. This one survived the chopper days, the bobber faze, and the cafe craze.
I think the bike looks better in person than in the photos, but I tried to capture every angle. It was raining when I took the photos; the garage lighting isn't great and definitely doesn't show the color in the original paint very well. There is of course oxidation in the paint, but a little love and Meguiar's #7 would have it shining and looking great. I prefer to sell bikes like this as found so the project will be yours from start to finish.
I think the photos show the overall condition of the bike well. Note that the numbers match and are clearly original with no shenanigans there. The seat pan is in great condition as is the battery box, absent of the rust issues that can be common on these. The seat grab rail was a new dealer option for 1968 and I think it looks pretty good on this bike. This bike appears to be a bit of a time machine, and is very, very original.
This bike is a fantastic starting point for either a mechanical restoration, full restoration, or with little effort would be a very cool, original bike to ride around on.
There will be a $200 deposit required. Pickup or shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I do keep a busy work schedule, but am available most weekends and many weekday evenings. I'm happy to help with on-site loading, etc. If anyone would like to see the bike in person, I'm happy to show it on weeknights or over the weekend.
Any payment method other than cash must have time to clear and be in my bank account prior to pickup of the motorcycle and title.
