1963 VELOCETTE LE MK 3

Early sixties Velocette Mk 3 model LE, twin cylinder 200cc with V5 in my name which lists two previous owners
Information from a relative said the previous owner a mechanic who renovated the engine included rebore and pistons died twenty years ago leaving the bike unused in storage. Before I could use it the fuel tank required cleaning out, a new gel battery and rewiring, it didn't require anything else
On the road it handles well and it is obvious the engine is in good condition with very good compression. These small engine bikes are not noted for fast speeds but it buzzes along at 45, and is a joy to ride, I've no idea of miles per gallon, eighty plus at a guess. The brakes are a bit of a let-down, having ridden a few of this model this didn't come as a surprise. 4 speed box all good, horn, lights, speedo in good fettle, ammeter shows a good charge The photographs show the damaged paintwork. The engine starts easily from hot, and using the choke from cold, revs freely and ticks over with a good steady beat. Service and spares manual available.
