Description
This 1981 Ducati 900SS Mike Hailwood Replica was acquired by the seller in 1995, from its second owner, and subsequent work included repainting the frame and bodywork in addition to fitting K&N air filters, Conti mufflers, and Öhlins piggyback shocks.
Power is from an 864cc square-case L-twin paired with a five-speed transmission, and the bike is finished in a red, green, and white livery akin to Mike Hailwood's 1979 TTF1 racer.
This 900SS MHR is offered with a clean Utah title.
Features include a full fairing, a clear windscreen, a left side bar-end mirror, turn signals, and a center stand.
Gold-finished 18″ cast-alloy wheels are mounted with Metzeler tires.
Suspension consists of a Marzocci conventional fork with black-finished lowers as well as dual Öhlins piggyback shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is provided by dual front and single rear Brembo calipers over cross-drilled rotors. Clip-on handlebars are mounted below the top triple clamp.
Ducati blue-dial instrumentation consists of a 220-km/h speedometer, tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, a trip meter, and a five-digit odometer showing 26,516 kilometers (16,476k miles). Approximately 8k kilometers (~5k miles) have been ridden by the seller.
The 864cc air-cooled desmodromic L-Twin features bevel-driven overhead camshafts, Dell'Orto carburetors, a see-through cam gear cover, K&N air filters, and a chrome Conti dual exhaust system.
The engine was fine-tuned in 2022, and the fuel pickup wiring was replaced at that time.
A beautiful classic that has been meticulously kept and thoroughly enjoyed. Now ready for its next caretaker.
