Description
Stunning example of the powerful desert racers of the 60's.
This 1968 Norton P11A is a total restoration.
Reground crankshaft, all new bearings and seals, including transmission, new valves, guides, .20 over pistons, Boyer electronic ignition, 34mm Mikuni single carburetor conversion kit from MAP Cycle, Ceriani front suspension, genuine Borrani front rim, Borrani replica rear rim, all with new stainless spokes.
Although many parts are not original to the machine, they are all period correct for the 60's.
Extras include a cleverly designed center stand (never offered with any P11), and a one off fiberglass battery cover that fits perfectly, opposed to the original design.
The engine was started and tested after completion, drained of fluids, and prepped for display. There is virtually no street time on the machine. The 78 year old owner/collector no longer rides and the bike needs to go away quietly.
There is a clear Kansas assembled title. The numbers all start with P11 reference as well as the transmission, but do not match.
The paintwork is exceptional and perfect. The only flaw is a couple of puncture marks on the seat which occurred in transit from the UK as seen in picture.
The bike was built to show and has won winning awards at both of the two shows entered.
