I obtained this Harley Davidson motorcycle from a friend who is suffering from a serious illness. I bought four of his motorcycles total so that I could help sell them after he was gone. That was his wish. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about this motorcycle from historical standpoint but the gentleman who owned it did drive it on a regular basis up until about a year ago when he got sick. I currently have the motorcycle in one of my commercial warehouse spaces along with another early Harley Davidson. I think this is a fantastic motorcycle, and from what I understand the WL-45 Civilian Solo model it is rather iconic and rare.
I have not started this motorcycle in six months or more because frankly speaking, I don't know how to. Anyone who is truly interested in this motorcycle I would recommend they make a trip out so they can inspect the motorcycle directly. I think it's an exceptional piece of machinery, and one of the nicest looking of these older Harley Davidson's I've ever seen. If you are interested, then I would advise coming to see the motorcycle before. If you are unable to do so, I would still allow or brief grace. You'll also notice a couple of bullet holes on the right side of the gas tank. Those are actually fake marks made by using a decal. They look pretty real from a distance, but they have been removed.
This motorcycle currently has a clear title and I can provide the Vin numbers on request.
The range of these motorcycles depending on condition seems to average $16,000-$50,000. The highest one I've seen going to auction was $225,000 for a professional high-level restoration example. Apparently, this motorcycle has an early paint job and some extensive mechanical restoration.
There are also some pieces that were added, and are not original, but I'm also not familiar with exactly what those pieces are. Again, we highly recommend anybody who is serious about this motorcycle to take a trip and inspect it directly.
This is a beautiful piece of machinery, and from what I understand was a dream to drive and a genuine attention getter. I think a knowledgeable person might just leave this alone and drive and enjoy it. A collector might go further and actually do a long-term restoration. Either way you could pick out a more classic and iconic Harley Davidson.
Our pictures clearly show the condition and immediate visual appearance of this American classic. Someone who is a experienced rider or avid Collector can certainly take this to the next level.
