Description
1946 Indian Chief.
Matching Numbers.
This Chief was part of a collection I bought. The bike was more or less as you see it now intact.
The engine was out and partially disassembled for the rebuild. I finished all disassembly and completely cleaned and inspected all parts. It is all good stuff so only the normal rebuild wear parts will be needed for a rebuild. I.E rollers, thrust washers, pistons, shafts etc. Case races can probably just be honed for OS rollers as can connecting rods which I am supplying new wrist pin bushings. Cylinders have no deep scores and should hone out to the next size which is .030". All nice cams, lifters, pushrods, etc.
All trans and primary internals are present and in nice usable shape absolutely no junk there.
Chassis is mostly complete with all correct and original parts which appear all in good usable shape. A lot of the chassis work is already done. This is a great start for someone who can do most of their own work and give it an older restoration look. This isn't the average basket case with all sorts of wrong or missing parts. This pile is mostly original and correct for 1946. I have enough work going on already or I would finish this bike myself. I am willing to talk to a serious buyer and go through the bike top to bottom and explain in detail everything about it so they know exactly what they are getting.
