Description
Up for sale is my early first generation EL Knucklehead.
I believe it was probably assembled the first week of production. Very faithful restoration of an unbelievably rare bike, considering the number of early small timing-hole case bikes that were produced. Many early production-only parts, like the outside oil drain, primary globe spark plugs, welded feed and drain flat-top oil tank. All OEM fenders, tanks, wheels, frame, motor, lights, springer, transmission, horn, controls, '36-only generator, speedometer, front brake. Not sure about the back brake, but it is likely '36-only. M5 carburetor. Seat is recovered over, I believe, the original pan. Wiring is either original or NOS.
Missing a few small parts like the toolbox, front brake lever and cable, spring and cover for the foot clutch mechanism, oil pressure gauge, and some small hardware.
Sits on original Goodyear tires that have seen better days and should be replaced—deformed from age. Have never started the bike since I've owned it; it's just sat in my living room in a controlled environment. Older paint but still really nice. Some parts are not the correct finish, such as cad-plated parts. I could have had them replaced on the mainland, but I'm too scared—having lost some extremely rare parts over the years in shipping.
She's a beauty!
