1927 Triumph Model P, 500cc excellent runner with V5C.
Here is a very nicely turned out vintage Triumph model P, first registered in May 1927.
The model P was a great success for Triumph, it was an affordable and reliable every day motorcycle well capable of pulling a sidecar. This one is an excellent starter, benefitting from an excellent period Bosch magneto. Runs and ticks over nicely, mechanically quiet engine. It rides well, good gears and clutch. No jumping out of gear. Brakes are quite good particularly the front hub brake. Full lighting set fitted but I haven't tried it out!
Comes with up to date V5C document.
Reg WC1765 (cannot be transferred to another vehicle). Date of registration 1st May 1927. Frame number 941602, engine number 235419. These numbers match the V5C doc. Registered as a Historic Vehicle so free road tax & MOT exempt of course.
Cosmetically the bike is very clean and tidy and presentable though not over restored or anywhere near concours. The enamel on the frame is very good, albeit a bit older looking. Mudguards have nice black enamel. Wheel rims are both a bit old looking paint wise, possibly brush applied black pain to the rims. The spokes are all clean and in excellent condition, unpolished stainless I think. Front tyre is a beaded edge Siamese Rubber 26 x 2 ½” and has only light wear. Rear tyre is a Dunlop Cord Motorcycle “Extra Heavy” in hardly used very good condition. Saddle in very nice brown leather. Petrol tank has had a nice paint job at some point but possibly the paint is a bit too thickly applied as there is a bubbled patch about 2” across on the left side where the paint has lifted. The tank is immaculate inside and has not been linered. There is no fin damage.
All in all this is a great up and running vintage class Triumph ideal for anyone wishing to get involved with vintage club ride outs such as Banbury etc. Don't miss this truly historic motorcycle. Selling as a good runner.
