Description
One owner from new. me. We had everything fitted from new. Colour matched panniers. Guzzi top box. Stelvio hand guards. rubber rear pegs (again Stelvio but no vibe problems for either of us) Tom Tom Rider 2.
Different bars not sure what they are but recommended by Moto Strada.
Most of the miles were in Sunny Spain. we lived around Alicante were there are loads of dry twisty roads. and as the bike handles brilliantly on the twisties it was perfect. Handling wise it will keep up with any sports tourer. weight wise it is similar to CBF1000. 1000SX. 1200GS. K1200S. Quite a lot lighter than a VFR1200. Please don`t be put off by MCN. if you want handling this has top quality. Brembo Brakes. Wavy Discs. Marchesini Wheels. Sachs fully adjustable front and rear suspension. It only has 105BHP (same as 1200GS) which means it is good for about 130mph. but as it only has limited wind protection usually it was sub 100mph which in the real world I never found a problem. The shaft drive is great check the oil level once a year at service then just ride it. no messing with chain lube when touring. It has the 2 valve engine fitted which means it has loads of torque so it pulls really well off the corners and allows it to accelerate as well as more powerful engines. It also sounds really good with the standard can which I was going to change but didn`t think it could sound any better so never bothered.
Comfort wise it is brilliant. I am 5'11 32in inside leg and we have done 800 miles in a day before 2 up no problems but the seat is low. I have measured it with only me sat on it is 800mm. this is with the preload set firm for 2 people. I have heard dealers say just take some preload off to make it sit lower. which is fine if you want to screw the handling up. My wife says it is the comfiest bike we have had. and we have had most of the sports tourers around.
It has just had its annual service at Teesdales in Thirsk and Mot Test. Both Tyres are new Avon Storm 11. Been getting 6k from the rear and nearer 8k from the front good in the wet too. All pads were changed recently also.
The Tom Tom is hard wired to the underseat power socket. so just clips on and off as required.
I have taken photos with luggage off and on. but we used it with top box always on. and just clipped the panniers on if needed which is a 2 second job. The last photos show the single seat cover fitted. this has been stored in a bag from new but does look nice if you ride solo.
If you are serious I would be willing to allow a test ride. obviously insurance etc. would need sorting. We are in York but I have a trailer which the bike has been to and from Spain in so Delivery within UK is possible.
If you want a very good sports tourer that will keep up with anything or you can tour in comfort then look no further.
