Description
After so many lovely years looking and riding my beautiful beast I have come to the conclusion I don't use her enough and she needs to go to a new home.
Mike Hailwood replica. This is the 83 model year not the first version which has different side panels etc. In the following year (84 series) they fitted a plain crank/spin off filter etc. as a prequel to the 1000 mille. This was not registered until 1985 so she must have sat unloved on a dealers showroom for some time. ( I think during this period the then importer. Coborn and Hughes lost deal to import. no one else was appointed and what with the uncertainty at Ducati bikes weren't exactly rushing off the showroom floor. )
Stainless screws throughout.
Complete stainless exhaust and silencers. Stainless bevel tubes. Seat reupholstered with original vinyl. (looks perfect). Stainless brake pins.
Regularly maintained. straight 40 oil every 1000 miles - or annually when I did not use her.
The engine has never been opened (its a good un!) and still has the seal underneath the crank cases. Carbs were replaced with new ones about 5 years ago as the old worn ones were a pig to set up. (I have swapped the plastic top and union with the correct ali parts). New fork seals a couple of years ago. (+ new fluid)
She pulls like a train. sweet gearbox. no odd noises a real gem. No rumbling big ends or odd noises.
I have owned her for 10 years and covered about 8 thousands miles (one trip to bologna and back - about 2500 mile trip). See MOT mileages.
She looks brilliant and to save you looking and nick picking I shall point out a few niggles.
Front brake master cylinder is not original. Previous owner changed it to another (later Brembo) cylinder. "Feel" is right and I meant to get around to changing it but never did. It works just fine.
One Front stanchion has lost its chrome right at the top. Its in-between the yokes and I have twisted the stanchion so you can't see it easily when looking at the bike. Again. been like the since I had her and never got around to changing it. (mdinitalia do them)
LHS switch gear is non standard (I think its a later triumph part) BUT it does has a headlamp flash button. which I liked. so never bothered changing it. I do have an original one though.
I do not have the correct fairing for her (its a 900ss one fitted - the flexiglass it has a crack in it. again mdinitailia do them). I have the top half of an mk 1 MHR fairing which you are welcome to but it really needs the later one which is slightly different. ( but why would you want to cover up the engine!)

Please come and look. you will be very impressed. I'm not interested in px. If you are interested please come and look - we can do some gentlemanly (or ladylike) haggling face to face if you are serious. Payment by cash or bank transfer. I do not trust paypal with such large numbers. I will probably advertise her elsewhere as well so may have to pull this advert if it sells.
