Triumph Bonneville T120 1969 Superb Original Condition

Welcome to the sale of my 1969 Triumph Bonneville T120 American model.
This bike is in truly lovely condition with matching engine and frame numbers. Factory records show that it was made in November 1969. I purchased the bike in April this year as a bike to ride and improve. I have now reluctantly decide to sell it as I already own a Norton Dominator and there is no room in my garage for two British big twins.
It must have lead an easy life in America as it is is superbly original and largely untouched condition. The chrome on the rims. pipes. silencers. bars and levers is great. the motor is mechanically quiet. with great compression. no smoke and no oil leaks. There are no signs of external damage or bodging. I have replaced all the clutch plates and springs and the clutch is light and neither drags nor slips. The gearbox works very well and all the gears select cleanly and positively. All the control cables are new. The electrics are all standard and work very well. The battery is new. The paint on the frame and brackets looks original and apart from very minor wear is in great condition. The tanks. mudguards and side panel are repainted and look fabulous. The tyres are new. The petrol tank is clean inside and has new taps and pipes. The chain guard is new.
The bike starts easily and is a delight to ride. torquey and powerful with a great exhaust note. The brakes are good. The whole plot is taught and dialled in.
This model is widely regarded as being the best unit engine Triumph. incorporating important changes to the engine chassis and brakes. The later models are not considered so desirable. This bike is totally standard with no modifications or customization.
Looking at the bike from a negative perspective the headlamp shell has slight pitting. but replacements are available and reasonably priced.
The bike has an MOT and is taxed and totally rideable.
