BMW R100GS HPN Dakar copy - totally rebuilt

I built the bike over the last three years. at virtually no expense spared to ride to Kathmandu with a friend. Unfortunately my friend has had a motorcycle accident so we won't be going and now my wife has been made redundant so I need to sell the bike.

I have completed approximately 1000 miles on the bike shaking it down since it has been finished. The bike has been designed to be a modern equivalent to a new GS but slightly smaller and much lighter to suite my height/size.

I have focused on upgrading the suspension. had the engine built by the ultimate engine rebuilder ( Richard Moore ). With more power on tap the gearing has been raised to allow for 90+ mph touring with a top speed of around 125mph. Its a great ride.

The specification and parts are rather lengthy as you can see below. I have bills receipts for around £12.000.

In terms of specification:

Front suspension : upside down showa forks
Rear suspension: r80g/s monolever extended by 100mm with Wilber's fully adjustable shock. I have several spring rates for different riding
Front wheel: 21" with a 320mm front disk
Rear wheel: 18" (kept large to keep the gearing high)

Final drive 33/11: very rare final drive for higher speed touring
Vented breather takeoff to prevent water getting in

Frame: Strengthened in line with HPN mods

Engine: Completely rebuilt
Moorespeed pistons
titanium larger inlet /outlet
crank lightened and balanced with pistons and flywheel
Sachs racing clutch
Carbon fibre engine cover and front cover
Wudo deep sump (for more oil capacity)

Oil cooler with Silent Hektik thermostat

Designed vertically so dust falls off rather than in

NB. I have another gearbox with a -5% first and +5% 5th available as an extra
