Description
Unregistered SS90. I took this Scooter as part payment for a debt some years ago. It's been sitting in my house. looked at. and occasionally dribbled over. Unfortunately. an amusing but insistent letter from the tax man means one of my Scooters has to go and this will fund the bill. and next years BSSO grp4 racing. so something good comes out of it!The SS itself IS NOT MINT. Is that clear? It's certainly been resprayed. it's got a scratch here & there. there are repairs (welding) under the rear running-boards. a muppet has got a bit heavy with the filler on the front mudguard so the seam has vanished at the front. The paint has cracked on the front legshield above the Vespa badge. It has without doubt been dropped in the past. But. there appear to be no areas of rust and overall anyone who sees it says "that's a nice one" - either they're all stupid or I'm being a bit harsh. I have not stripped it down to check the internals so there could be a Quattrini kit lurking under the head cowling (doubtful as it's got a 19mm carb & standard type exhaust but you never know. ) Engine number comes up as SS90 and is 44 away from the frame. so pretty original then. Toolbox & steering lock keys present. Speedo has faded. allot. The seat is not original. I know this because I bought it - it's one of the good Italian replicas. The headlight "glass" is plastic. It runs nicely. I've just got an MOT for it yesterday & wazzed it round the car park near me. And then had to let another 3 members of the local scooter club do the same 'cause "I've seen them but never had a go on one" - Smiles all round. I'm selling it unregistered as you will be the first name on the log book. It's got a Vespa club of Britain dating cert. he MOT. full purchase receipt and the DVLA V55/5 form to send off - all you need. The spare wheel (rim & tyre) is off my other smallie. There will be a spare. just not that one! There is a number plate bracket with it. it just looks better without! If I could keep it. one day I'd have it stripped & blasted. fit a small rear running board repair panel & have someone skilled in tin-work & painting respray it. It would then be perfect. New cables would probably be a good idea. as would electronic ignition. Falc kit. front disc. Ludwig & Scherer pipe.
The money. yup it's a lot. But the last one on here was 12K and this one is better - I've seen the other one in the flesh!I sold the last SS90 I had for £400 back in '92 and thought I'd had a result. Mind you my first Lamb. a TV200 cost me £40 off an old boy and that was a 250. mumble mumble mumble. I will sell it anywhere in the world - you arrange the shipping. I'll let it go when funds are properly cleared (bear in mind if you are a Nigerian cabinet minister this may take up to a year :-) I would prefer you come and have a look at it. either near Epping Forest or Stansted. but if you can't. message me & I'll phone you with the scoot in front of me and go through every last detail. Would prefer PP deposit and the rest in folding. I have clicked the "returns not accepted" box. if you buy it and I have lied in the description. you will be refunded. Best regards.
