Description
Kawasaki GPz750 'Practical Sports Bike - Project GPz'
This is a truly rare an unique opportunity to own a one off modern interpretation of the most classic of sports bikes. For those who follow the publication of 'Practical Sports Bike' magazine. you will be familiar with the twelve month build the team undertook with the cooperation of Kawasaki UK.
The Bike is based on the 1984 GPz 750. air cooled sports bike. Almost every part has been replaced or professionally refurbished but this is NO restoration! The ethos of the team was to create a modern interpretation of the GPz as if Kawasaki was to produce if from new today. The suspension. forks and wheels are off more current models. whilst the brakes are Brembo with custom made disks. The coachwork. has a modern white look with a play on the strips of the eighties machine. A custom exhaust has been added and a digital clock system incorporated to add a new dynamic with the up-to-date controls.
Picture three (3) shows my GPz across the centre spread of the magazine in 2012.
The bike is currently with Gary Hurd the main builder enjoying a mild tune up and its first full service & MOT. The bike has only covered 390 miles from new.
With the popularity of the machine during and after its build. it truly has a wealth of admirers and rightly so. I've been lucky enough to ride many modern superbikes and I can say none have ever handled as neutrally or as easily as this bike.
