Lambretta SX200 Italian 1967 UK registered

Hi and welcome to this listing for my 1967 Lambretta SX200.

Originally this bike came from Italy in 2004 and was completely restored by Allstyles in Portsmouth in original Italian style with oxblood seat to go with it. The bike was sold in 2004 and had reversible modifications done to it. I bought the bike in January 2011 and the modifications have all now been put back to original. The floorboard runners are stainless steel (not my favorite). but can easily be replaced with plastic and aluminium/rubber strips if you desire.

It was originally 6V with battery but. for reliability and visibility. has been upgraded to 12V. although the battery tray remains if you wish to put it back on 6V. It also had a boltless front luggage rack. which I have removed. The only visible sign of the rack being there is the small indentation on the legshield rubber beading where a hook was used to secure the rack. Also included in the sale is the rear rack with back rest and spare wheel. The back rest has been ‘upholstered' to match the Guiliari oxblood seat.

Since restoration the bike has been on the road regularly with MOT and tax showing it to have been on the road until August 2012. It has since been on SORN and stored in the garage doing nothing. The bike will be MOT'd and taxed so it can be ridden away if desired. I got the bike out at the weekend and after a couple of gentle kicks to get the fuel through it fired up on the fourth kick. and it has been out on a ride to ensure all still works. A fantastic ride and very responsive!

The engine and frame number are just over 200 apart (both starting 846xxx) showing this to be an original SX200. It rides beautifully and all controls and linkages are light and easy. It has done 2661 miles since its restoration in 2004. It also has the added value of a 6-digit registration which makes a much nicer number plate with the official sized letters.

The bike is located on Hayling Island. 15 minutes from Portsmouth. Viewing is encouraged as I don't think you will find another restored SX200 in this condition for a while – they seem to be coming up less and less these days! The bike will be sold with all of the paperwork. including the invoices from Allstyles for the original restoration. all MOTs and Tax discs etc.

I am not desperate to sell the bike. there is just no point in it sitting in a garage during the summer when it should be on the road being enjoyed. Time/space is not the reason for selling so I am not looking for silly offers to get rid of it.
