Description
Here for sale is my beautiful and extremely rare Mondial Piega. This bike is a work of art!
All hand-built. Pretty much everything that can be carbon fibre is, including the fairings and swingarm cover.
The attention to detail is phenomenal—you have to see it up close to appreciate it.
Fitted with top-notch components, including:
● Gold Paioli forks
● Öhlins rear shock and Öhlins steering damper
● Brembo brakes
This was my dream bike since the age of about 16, and a couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to find one. I purchased the bike from Made in Italy Motorcycles—it was brand new, and I was the first owner.
Treated extremely well, no expense spared.
Ran in very carefully—first engine oil change at 650 miles, then again at 1000 miles.
Carbon airbox produces a unique, lovely sound.
These bikes are very rare. The factory originally planned to make 150 to homologate it for the WSBK championship, but production stopped before reaching that number.
To my knowledge, only 115–120 were made, and roughly 20 went missing due to an American buyer attempting (but failing) to acquire the brand. He still managed to illegally move some units to the U.S..
In total, about 100 are out there.
The value will always go up—it will never lose value, making it a very safe investment.
Extras included with the bike:
● Front and rear paddock stands
● Mondial dust cover
● Leather briefcase with glossy brochures and memorabilia, including:
● Original Mondial brochure featuring their full lineup
● A couple of Mondial hats
● A set of Spyke leathers (UK size 52), Spyke gloves, and Sidi boots—all blue to match the bike
Rare spare parts:
● Genuine Mondial spare sprockets
● Genuine Mondial spare ECU
Condition & Maintenance:
● MOT valid until March next year
● Brand-new Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa rear tyre, front Pirelli tyre still in great condition
● Currently on a SORN, but I will add 6 months tax for the buyer if wanted
● I have personally serviced the bike for oil and filter changes (I know what I'm doing), but other maintenance (such as the recent rear tyre, spark plugs, and air filter cleaning) has been done by Made in Italy Motorcycles
Most people who own these bikes don't ride them, but I believe in keeping it running rather than letting it sit and risk components seizing. It has covered 2,566 miles.
The engine is taken from the Honda SP1, but Mondial tuned it to 140BHP (up from 130BHP). Since it's a Honda engine, it's incredibly reliable and spare parts are easy to find.
Price & Comparison:
Made in Italy Motorcycles currently has another Piega for sale for £17,000, but it has some differences:
● Different exhaust system
● Different front forks and mudguard
To my knowledge, some bikes were assembled after the factory went bust. However, all the reference images of these bikes match mine, so I am confident mine is a proper factory-built example.
With the spares, accessories, and the fact that it's ready to ride, I am asking £19,000, which I believe is a fair price.
Any inspection is welcome. Any questions, please ask.
