1981 Ducati Mike Hailwood Replica - one owner from new

Unique opportunity to purchase a 1 owner 1981 Hailwood Replica - one of 2nd batch made - first with the full steel tank. Fitted with Conti exhausts and 40 mm dellorto carbs. 33851 Km from new only with original owner (20. 00 miles). Currently under a SORN but has not covered any miles since last MOT two years ago. The bike has had gas flowed cylinder heads. wider downpipes and bronze valve seats from new and dealer always stated it was the fasted 900 he had ever had in for service. Suspected it was imported as a 'press' bike. Bike has been largely stored for the past 15 years or so while owner was working abroad. Has been looked after carefully with a lot of polished stainless bolts where appropriate. It has had a racing clutch fitted so does not suffer from clutch slip unlike original Ducatis. Has a sealed 'O' ring heavy duty chain. The flywheel was slightly lightened so it revs quicker. but without vibration.

The original grey plastic bellmouths have been changed to smaller alloy bellmouths matched to the inlet length. Drilled disk brakes with goldline brembo disk brakes fitted as standard. The original Conti exhausts make a beautiful noise to warm the heart without being offensive. Can set off car alarms when going through a car park!
