The Norton Manx or Manx Norton is a British racing motorcycle that was made from 1947 to 1962 by Norton Motors Ltd. A Norton had contested every Isle of Man TT race from the inaugural 1907 event through into the 1970's. a feat unrivalled by any other manufacturer.
The development and honing of the Manx racing motorcycle was another step in this racing achievement. Manx Nortons. built to various specifications. are still available new from different suppliers throughout the world. One of the most respected of these motorcycles is the Manxman 500 built by Neville Evans. These motorcycles closely conform in design to the legendary Norton International and Norton Manx. The strength. performance and ease of maintenance have been improved while keeping to the appearance and spirit of the originals as much as possible. The engine is based on the renowned Norton S. O. H. C. 500cc unit and closely follows the outward appearance of the original with internal modifications using modern materials. The engines are then delivered to James Tennant-Eyles to be built into the finished bespoke machine.
On offer today is one of those highly desirable Manxman machines. purchased by the vendor and built in 2008. Since its delivery. it has not been used and so is as new. It is built to race specification with a single seat and Gardner carburettors.
