Description
Triton registered as a Triton 1968 This sale is for my beloved Triton. Unlike some "Tritons" the bike is registered as a 1968 Triton and includes a copy of the original log books.
The bike belonged to my late father who owned the bike since 1968 but never finished the project. I am the second owner (my father being the first) and have had the bike on the road for the past 6-7 years.
The bike is in great condition with lots of polished chrome and aluminium. The clippons could with being re-chromed as this starting to craze. After modifying the kick start to suit the rear sets I never got around to chroming this. I'm reluctantly selling this great example as I just don't get around to riding it due to family commitments and feel it will go to waste if just left sat in my garage. It's taxed till August (this is free) but not MOT'd as I was going to SORN it this year. It can be MOT'd at cost if required (it's never failed!). Original parts Norton slimline 1959 featherbed frame. It has both centre stand and side stand making wheel removal possible. Short Road holder forks Triumph 6T Pre unit 1948 - I think (10009) bottom with 1969 - 1970 splayed 9 stud T120 head with rare 4 bolt tappet access lids. Starts very easily despite having high compression pistons (not sure what ratio). Timing cover with original rev counter drive. this includes an SRM oil seal conversion.
Triumph Slick shift 4 speed gear box Smiths speedo and rev counter Twin leading shoe John Tickle (no markings) front break Norton dominator rear hub K2FC Magneto - manual advance and retard - refurbished by SRM Lucus dynamo electronic voltage regulator 6 volt electrics original Lucus amp meter and light cluster (amp meter works but jumps slightly) aluminium central oil tank with battery tray matched handed Amal concentric carburettors - no choke Dunlop aluminium rear rim and Akront Morad front aluminium rim with stainless steel spokes tyres are both very good Dunlop Roadmaster TT100's Clippon handle bars Rear shocks are original Lucus Rear light switch is an original Lucas too. Replacement/more modern parts Unity Equipe Manx style 4 gallon aluminium fuel tank with clippon indents Unity Equipe aluminium front and rear mud guards Unity Equipe swept back exhausts with short mega silencers Unity Equipe stainless steel chain guard cafe racer rear sets Amal break and clutch leavers
This is a great Triton and I'm only selling as it just doesn't get used and the family want a Camper!
