Description
Here is my Ducati 999s. Mono Nero limited edition. The "last proper Ducati" and probably one of the best ducati sports bikes for the road. This is the black swing arm 2005 model with the upgraded engine. ohlins suspension and steering damper. It also has an adjustable steering head angle to sharpen the steering. Like all 999s the footrests are adjustable and the seat is too. This is a great bike which I bought off the previous owner who had kept it in a shed for about 8 years. It has the termi half system which sounds great. When I got the bike it wasn't running very well and so I had it serviced at ducati wolverhampton (belts in June 2012). I then took it back to get it set up properly. Since then it has been perfect.
It is totally standard apart from the addition of a ducati performance carbon hugger. a shorai lithium ion battery which means it starts first time everytime and I recently replaced the front brake master cylinder with a brembo racing version 19rcs 18-20 ratio with folding lever. Unfortunately. this means that the other side is still standard. I was going to buy the other side next month but if you boaught a black lever for the clutch it would be perfect. Cost of this little piece of braking artistry was €308 and is about a month old.
Tyres: As you will see from the pictures the bike has a brand new pair of Metzler rennsports not even scrubbed in . with chicken strips :-) intact unfortunately. I was going to take it to the track but my circumstances have changed hence my decision to sell.
I didn't service it this year (oil and filters) because I have only ridden it 4 times due to lack of time and the fact that I am too old/tall for it. I thought I would have a last hurrah with a sportsbike but realise I need something more upright. The motor though is a peach and handling rock steady. all in all a brilliant bike that is like new. People tell me they are becoming collectible and I should just leave it in my garage for 10 years under a sheet but as a lifetime ducati owner I strangely think they should be ridden!
Bad (ish bits)In the photos. A few hairline scratches where previous owner scraped his knee sliders. These would polish out easily. Clutch master cylinder reservoir paint peeling. Furry bolts on the front callipers but still super functional. Slicght scrape on offside mirror done at last MOT by bike shop. grr. If you have never ridden a 999 you deserve to. beautiful beautiful linear torque everywhere . no need for traction control fantastic brakes. don't know why I'm selling it really. May swap for Multistrada 1200 :-)
deposit required through paypal cash or banker's draft for full price. No test rides without full amount in my hand :-)
