Description
Fantastic one of a kind 1960 BSA bobber built and designed by the reputable and quirky Odgie Danaan called the "OMSTER"
So I have been lucky enough to own this work of art for the past couple of years and this is an extremely reluctant sale. but to be honest I need to sell it (along with a few other bits and bobs) to raise money for another project and to be honest I haven't ridden it this year - good old English summer hey?
I like the quirky and unusual when it comes to mechanical contraptions and the Omster doesn't disappoint. it started life a a standard 1960 BSA B31 but under went a magical transformation from Odgies imagination. needless to say it is no longer a B31 more like a B33 with the addition bore and a lot more power.
If you have never heard of Odgie Danaan. google him and you will discover a master.
The build of the Omster was documented stage by stage by the 100-biker magazine (I have a copy of this) and subsequent to this it was featured in the Gasoline Magazine (I have a copy of this too) and loads and loads of other documentation.
So I could list all of the exceptional and quirky modifications made to this machine. but my fingers would tire quickly. so please study all of the photos really well to understand what you are dealing with here. the main points to mention are that both brakes are operated by the feet. clutch to the left. decompression lever to the left of the tank and and suicide shift to the right of the tank.
Single seater with a bolt on passenger bum pad if required. never bothered with this. its more fun on your own.
The exhaust system is a wonderful work of art. a blanked stubby and glorious fish tail. gives it a superb bark. if you are minded to remove the plug from the stubby (which is an easy allen key job) the damn things breathes fire. and is blinking load!
I have tried to start her today. but she is not playing. I would image a slight bit of dirt in the carb from the tank as the petrol was left in for a while.
The Omster is not a new bike remember and as all old bikes has a mind of its own. bit like the missus!
So without going on and on and on. there you have it. this is a rare. one off machine that makes you grin from ear to ear when looking at it and riding it. it will scare the neighbours and young children. not to mention horses. trust me!
Ride it. show it or park it in the lounge. equally at home in either case I reckon.
So the boring bit. the Omster is here to be sold. not haggled over. PAY. COLLECT. that simple.
I would prefer cash on collection. If you require and further information. photos etc. please let me know. If you would like to see a video of the Omster ticking over then check out the video by visiting DEL MOTO on Facebook. This is the garage that do the day only MOT. (the front light is for show. not functional)
I'm sure I have forgotten loads! like I say any questions please ask.
