Description
1967 BSA A65L Lightning style. beautiful machine SRM etc
Here is a beautifully restored BSA A65 in 650cc Lightning trim.
This has clearly been a well loved cared for classic. kept in top condition. It has had the SRM needle roller conversion and there is a receipt for this amongst other receipts. The bike has an external cartridge type oil filter fitted. It also has Pazon electronic ignition.
It starts easily and sounds great. There is some audible tappet / valve train rattle typical of higher spec ally head twins but no serious noises and absolutely no smoke. It really goes well (as you would expect for a Lightning). Decent brakes. good gears & clutch. electrics charging well. speedo & rev counter both working well. Indicators have been fitted. which are working very well.
This bike has been in regular light use covering around 2500 in the last 5 years.
The bike comes with V5C registration document. reg no. SYE 18F. The date of registration is 16th August 1967. frame number is A50B 11190. engine number is A65. L. 1692 These numbers match the V5C but neither are originally from a 67 A65L.
The bike is MOT'd until November and is of course classed as a historic vehicle for free road tax.
Cosmetically the bike is as good as you could ever expect to see for a used bike.
The stove enamel on the frame is of a high quality and in excellent condition.
The red paintwork on the tank & side panels is all of a good quality and in good condition. some signs of use here and there of course.
The mudguards. headlamp & exhaust all have excellent chrome. Chrome on tank is perfect.
There is no fin damage on the engine. Wheels are Akront alloys with stainless spokes.
Front tyre is part worn 30%) Avon speed master ribbed. rear is hardly used Avon SM MKII.
Seat is like new.
Overall this is a beautiful BSA 650cc. in excellent running order. An ideal classic bike club type machine. on the road and ready for sporting and fun riding whilst really looking the part at the same time! Don't miss this attractive BSA!
