Description
Here we have my BSA 441 Shooting Star for sale.
It is 1967 and is in good condition. I bought the bike about two years ago from an old chap who had carried out a lot of work on the bike and rebuilt the engine. It has sat on my bike bench in the garage ever since and never turned a wheel so i've decided to sell it. I have just put a brand new carb on it and new throttle and choke cables and new air filter and spark plug. i got it down off the bench and it started up straight away. and were it has sat for two years there isn't one drop of oil on the bench and it doesn't wet sump either which is great for a bsa. I've checked it over and everything works lights horn etc. the bike was mot'd when i got it and I cant see any reason why it wouldn't pass with flying colours.
It has a Avon speedmaster tyre on the front and has a tyre on the back which is like new.
I have the v5c log book for it in my name and have a dating certificate from the owners club saying originally was sent to bsa west usa on the 14th march 1967 and is a shooting star and is fitted with its original engine.
The chrome is presentable and would be ok but not mint. It has a fibreglass petrol tank which has been coated inside but i have a genuine bsa steel tank for it brand new never been fitted to a bike in primer that i found at a bike jumble just needs painting that i will include in the sale I paid £100 for it. The bike has a few bits that need doing it needs a pair of gaitors on the forks. kickstart chrome has peeled off but works fine and the centre stand is missing it has the side stand.
I've tried as best as I can to describe the bike please look at the photos. and don't come to haggle after the sale or try and chip the price down. i've looked on auctions lately and not many genuine shooting stars come up but when they do projects with no log books and needing loads of work fetch over two grand. believe me you are better buying this that's all done as projects end up costing you twice as much as you think to restore.
I have a bike trailer and may be able to help with delivery for the cost of fuel you would have to speak to me 1st. I am not a dealer just someone who likes old bikes.
The bike is in st. Helens Merseyside and is cash on collection. Bike is sold as seen no warranty given or implied. many thanks for looking.
