Description
1960 BSA A10 650cc Rocket Goldstar style. excellent runner.
Here is a beautifully restored BSA A10. built to share some of the glamour of the Rocket Goldstar but without the Goldie price tag! This bike is typical of how the bikes were turned out by young enthusiasts and cafe racers back in the day. Most turned their hands to making a bike look good. more often than not on a budget.
This is a lovely bike to ride. It is not over stressed - just a nice easy going beefy and reliable. tractable old A10. It starts easily (unlike a genuine Goldie!). The mag is freshly rebuilt by Tony Cooper. It ticks over a treat and runs smoothly and crisply through the rev range. The engine is mechanically quiet and doesn't smoke. The dynamo is charging well and lights are all good. Speedo works well. Gearbox and clutch are spot on. brakes are good. handling is very good. This bike is a real pleasure to ride.
The bike comes with V5C registration certificate. registration number 674 UYO (cannot be transferred to another vehicle).
Frame number is GA7. 5279. engine number is DA10 16377. these numbers are genuine factory stampings and match the V5c doc.
The bike is registered for Historic vehicle (free) road tax. It has a current MOT valid until October 2016.
Cosmetically the biker is in beautiful condition.
Excellent quality stove enamel on the frame & other tin ware is all beautifully painted
The tank is in perfect condition.
Wheel rims are recent new items with new rustless type spokes.
Front tyre is a new Dunlop ribbed. rear is a new Mitas. Mudguards are new. exhaust new. seat new.
The all iron motor has no fin damage to head but one bottom cylinder fin chipped on drive side.
Don't miss this beautiful yet easy going alternative to a Goldstar. A typical 60's cafe racer. looks like it's come straight off the car park outside the Ace Cafe!
Selling as an excellent runner. not yet run in.
