Rescued from the garage of a 71 year old who fancied a deal with a 2008 Honda Hornet.

Just two former owners. the final one owning this machine since 1998
Speedometer shows 3.500 miles which we suspect in since restoration. learly not original mileage.
Back in 2012. the top end was rebuilt and there are a number of different receipts for this work but not all of them (Pistons +40). Note an Amal concentric carb is fitted
We have just fitted new corks in the petrol tap and freed off the clutch which was dry after protracted garage storage. All lubricants checked/refilled as necessary. The engine was kicked over once to feed fuel and then fired on the second kick. settling immediately to an even tick over. No smoking or untoward engine noise. A brief ride confirmed that the transmission all works as it should.
Note the oil tap on the oil tank to prevent wet sumping -there is a valve available but some owners do not trust these.
We are advised electrics/bulbs etc. are 12 Volt but the alternator itself has not been upgraded. A new battery is due to be fitted to operate the lighting. The Ammeter shows charge.
Lovely. tidy machine which makes a superb road bike for sunny days or garage ornament and investment.
Part exchange for a less expensive classic bike may be considered.
