1960 BSA A10 Golden Flash

Here is an excellent. Very original example of probably the best and most popular all round British classic bike - the BSA A10 Golden Flash.

This example is in excellent condition. It has been in regular use and is ready to go!

Starting is good and the engine sounds really superb. no mechanical noises and runs clean and smoke free once warm.

It is great to ride. nice smooth and powerful. Bags of low down torque which makes riding British bikes so much fun. It is big and powerful enough to be safe on modern roads yet it is still a soft. forgiving and comfortable machine to ride.

The dynamo is charging well and a modern Lucas RB108 regulator is fitted. New Dynovolt 6 Volt battery also fitted. Speedometer is working OK. brakes are good and gearbox & clutch are all A1.

The bike comes with V5C doc.

Engine & frame numbers are the matching factory originals and have been checked in the factory records. Frame GA7. 14945. Engine DA10. 14708

Date of registration is given as 1st January 1960. Registration number is VSY 179 (cannot be transferred to another vehicle)

There is an MOT until March 2017 and the bike is of course Historic (free) tax class.

Cosmetically the bike is in lovely all round condition. It is a used bike not a spit & polish concours machine. but nevertheless very tidy!

The enamel on the frame is basically very good and of a very good quality but a few chips / touch ups here and there. The tank is good with excellent chrome & no dents! All good enamel on tinware etc. No fin damage on engine and looks nice & oil tight.

Primary cases & timing chest look very nice with no gouges or scratches.

Seat is good. Exhaust system excellent.

Front rim is 9/19 good chrome just a few flecks. spokes & nipples are nice original “rustless” type. front tyre is as new Ribbed Cheng Shin.

Rear rim is excellent with excellent clean dry rustless type spokes. Rear tyre is as new Mitas (Dunlop Universaal pattern). There is no sidestand currently fitted but these are readily available and the mounting bracket is intact on the bottom rail.

This is a great opportunity to own a well sorted sweet running old Golden Flash with matching engine & frame.
