Description
Harley-Davidson Other.
1933 Harley VL. I've owned the bike for around 10 years. The engine was freshly rebuilt when I got it. I had the bike fully assembled and dialed in by Steve White from the J.C. Burgin Motorcycle Collection in Spanaway, Washington. Steve sourced a few missing pieces and got the bike running to a "driver" standard. The bike always runs great as long as it has gas and the right amount of oil in the crank-case. When I picked up the bike from Steve he advised "These things are louder than a box of rocks. The faster you go the more rocks in the box! So, put in some earplugs and have fun!"
Condition is better than a full patina original, but short of a full restoration. The bike is meant to be ridden. It drives great. The hard tail isn't a problem. Side shift and foot clutch takes some getting used to, but it's great fun once you get all the pedals and levers going the right direction. The bike goes through a ton of oil. It's hot to ride. It's a rattly beast, but very very cool.
I'm selling to invest in other endeavors. I don't ride much any more. If I were to keep it, I'd get a new gas tank. The tank is in rough shape. I think the oil leaks from the oil tank into the crankcase over time. All in all - honest bike! More photos and videos upon request. Additional Info:- I just pulled the title - Oregon registered 1933 HD. Also found that I've had it 16 years now!
Shipping: We're driving from Oregon to Virginia in two weeks. I can meet up anywhere along the path for a drop off. Takes care of a lot of shipping hassle!
Or pick up in Oregon. I can help load out. Crating is possible for a cost. Also includes very detailed Rider's Handbook that covers everything from starting to maintenance to full mechanical and electrical breakdown.
