Description
This was a lockdown purchase and I am simply not going to use it enough - apart from up and down the lane I've been on the road twice since 2020!
It's a near-perfect 1954 sprung hub Thunderbird - the one with the SU carb introduced that year. It starts easily, sounds superb and goes and stops as it should.
It was bought at an online auction and after that I was able to meet the previous owner who restored it and had a major Triumph interest and great skill in restoring bikes. It is sitting in my garage with too many other 'projects' and parts, some others of which will have to go as we downsize.
So, if you will appreciate it, please ask me questions and I will do my best to answer - although I hope the photos say it all.
Strictly payment cleared before collection.
I've looked around and there are a few small storage paint chips (nothing significant) it would need new rubbers (they're fine but the handlebar ends are out, and the rubber surrounds on the holes in the nacelle are beginning to perish) one exhaust has leaned against something rubber when hot so that needs removing... and that's all my eyes can see. To help, there are two videos on YouTube, one walking round the bike and one of me starting it. Excuse all the stuff in the background! Thanks to everyone for your interest. Here are the video links:
