Description
Up for sale is perhaps the most rare Buell XB Custom ever built! It is the Only XB ever to have a 280mm rear wheel/tire on the stock wheelbase and single drive. It is also the most Highly Sought after 2010 Model XB12Scg in Black. One of the last Buells to roll off the assembly line and the 2010 models had many major improvements compared to previous years. The most notable being the triple rear bearing set which was prone to failure previously, the larger crank Pin which was prone to failure previously and much improved ECM and tunability included adaptive learn.
This XB was upgraded and modded tastefully to the Max. She was featured on the front cover of SuperStreetbike Magazine and several pages of articles and pictures within. Caption "Worlds best custom Buell?" Buyer will get a copy of the magazine.
She has a sleek and trimmed Duc front fairing with morimoto headlights, dual bixenon projectors. Custom frame and engine sliders for protection. She has bar risers with oversize clamps and riser bars for a more comfortable dirtbike type riding position. Also, 1.5" lower pegs which places thr knees at a much more bearable angle for longer rides. She has a custom functional dual ram air intake lid and K&N filter. Also a hand fabricated "shaved" rear tail piece with integrated LED bar which contains running, brake and turn lights. Beautiful factory textured scg seat. Swingarm is a custom modified piece which holds the massive rear wheel 18x10.25 and 280mm tire. The swingarm also holds an additional quart of oil which is much needed with the small factory capacity. There is also a custom rear rotor and brembo inboard mounted rear caliper which makes for a very clean look out back.
The rear wheel alone was an engineering masterpiece. We started with the oem rear wheel as I wanted it to match the front and appear stock to the average Joe. It was then professionally split and widened to 10.25 as well as enlarged from 17 to 18" diameter then perfectly balanced. A one off billet CNC hub was created to bolt to the existing hub all while widening the hub and milled to house an automotive bearing sourced from a corvette which is way overkill for the application. Finally the stock rear axle was meticulously widened for the monster rear wheel and tire.
Moving to the front, we have the massive 8 piston ZTL2 brake caliper and Twin Perimeter Wave Rotors. She will go on the nose with only one finger. This is why I ultimately decided against adding a second front caliper, it would have been much too aggressive. She also has a massive 160mm front tire to balance out the muscular look and stance of the bike.
Finally we have the heart of the Beast! The stock 2010 1203cc motor had an easy 4200 miles on her when she was pulled and sent to Hammer Performance for a Radical build. She had stage 4 CNC head jobs with larger valves and springs added along with a hot street cam and 90ci cylinders with race dome pistons. She is high compression and runs on 92 or 93oct pump gas. Also she has a one off ported Throttle body and port matched intake runners. TB was opened to 54mm and intake runners to 1.75". The factory battery would not turn the new monster engine over and I had to upgrade to a Lithium Ion battery. She has a one off offset front sprocket and 520 chain final drive. She has the factory 2 into 1 header that exits through a D&D exhaust. She sounds BiG and BAD and most people have said she sounds like a custom chopper! Over 5k alone in engine work. She also has a wideband 02 and Bluetooth tuning system via Buelltooth.
She is truly a one of a kind beauty and you won't come across anything close to this again! The most common comment I hear when rising pr pulling up somewhere is "Wow, that looks like the Batman Bike!"
Bike is priced at a great discount from her full value. This is due to some tlc needs. She has always been stored inside my home on display. However has not been ridden much New engine has less than 1000 miles on it. That being said, battery is weak and will probably need replacing. New headlight bulbs are included but need to be installed. Paint is in great condition but not perfect. There are a couple small chips in the paint on rear rim. Finally, when the engine was built, they installed a high volume oil pump but forgot to cnc the heads for improved oil drain. So after she runs for awhile, she will start to push oil from the valve covers. Ultimately, it would be best to send the heads back to Hammer Performance to have the machining done (free of charge per Dan, Owner).
An absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking one of a kind Buell, don't pass this one up!
