Description
Up for grabs is my 1973 Z1, correct “matching” numbers from the factory, the 19,000 miles appears to be genuine.
I bought this bike from Canada 5 Years ago to use whilst I was down in Florida as I got fed up of dragging my other '73 down there and back from Michigan, this bike is not a 50k trailer queen, it is an out and out reliable rider. Sadly it only gets used for Daytona bike week by my pals and usually covers around 300 trouble miles a Year during that week, I still have way too many toys and some have to go. Here are good and some not so good things about the bike.
Matching engine and frame numbers, Built February 1973.
Seat has been recovered and is a quality job using all original tangs and no glue, original base in original paint.
The paintwork is original. The tank is in great condition inside, has a paint chip front left of the fuel cap, panels slightly faded, rear cowl pretty faded. It has electronic ignition.
Wheel rims are original with correct codes. Front brake could do with new pads.
The bad parts. It needs a new battery, it has a lithium battery at present, it starts and runs fine, but it fades fast as it's old and isn't quite up to the job. (But it hasn't let us down at Daytona this Year).
The carbs could do with setting up, it starts and runs fine. The bad part, Well, it has been down the road at some point in it's life, the left pipes are scraped, the headlamp brackets have been replaced and there are some chipped fins on the head. The tires are old and cracked (But I was still riding at 100 MPH 10 days ago on them).
That's about it, feel free to ask any questions.
It has a clear Florida title in my name.
