1987 Suzuki GSX-R

Up for sale is this amazingly clean, true survivor 1987 Suzuki GSXR1100.
This is a two owner bike with only 3050 original miles. This bike is 99% stock and all-original as delivered from the factory. Still retains the stock exhaust, original air box passenger grab rail, and OEM color matched seat cowl.
MECHANICAL - The bike cranks instantly, runs, idles, and throttles crisply and cleanly just as it did when sold new in 1987. Charging system is perfectly functional. No leaks of any sort. No smoke. Transmission shifts smooth and with precision. Clutch action is smooth and has no “grabbiness”. Chain and sprockets are clean and in excellent condition. Oil and oil filter changed in preparation for this sale with Maxima full synthetic 10/40 Ultra 4. Engine is smooth and quiet. Oil cooler/ heat exchanger is not damaged and its cooling fins are clean and straight.
CHASSIS - The original Dunlop tires had dry cracking on sidewall and in preparation for this sale have been replaced with brand new Bridgestone BT46 tires and valve stems. Also in preparation for this sale, front and rear brake systems have been fully serviced and rebuilt including the replacement of the stock degraded hydraulic hoses being replaced with black Spiegler hoses. Brake calipers, master cylinders and clutch actuator have been fully serviced and rebuilt with new OEM Suzuki seals, o-rings and flushed with Brembo RBF. Brakes perform as new with no drag or sponginess. Great lever feel front and rear. Fork seals are leak free. Suspension action is firm and smooth thanks mostly to its Fox twin clicker remote rear shock. Foot and hand controls are 100% stock. Throttle snaps back cleanly.
COSMETICS - Bodywork is original with no cracks or abrasion, blemishes. Paint is immaculate. Windscreen is original and scratch and abrasion free. Fuel tank interior and exterior is immaculate with zero rust, dings, or dents. This machine has been indoor/climate controlled stored its entire life so there is no rust, corrosion, discoloration, fading, or degradation of rubber, plastics, powder coating or anodizing. All silver anodizing on this bike is bright and non stained, streaked or spotted. Both factory keys included. Exhaust muffler heat shield has a slight vertical crease/blemish directly below passenger footpeg due a negligently opened car door that occurred some 30 years ago. All lighting, switching and electrical works perfectly.
The Gen 1 GSXR, also known as the Slabside GSXR overseas, marked the beginning of Suzuki's global domination in production based and Superbike roadracing. A definitive landmark collector machine from the mid 80's and a must-have for any true collector. These bikes were light, powerful, and handled with remarkable stability, An absolute weapon for it's day that was available for public road use.
