Description
Up for sale is my 2012 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade 20th Anniversary C-ABS in the stunning HRC colour scheme. I have owned the bike from new since 1st March 2012 from Blade Honda in Reading and have covered just over 19. 00 hugely enjoyable miles in that time. The bike is HPI clear and I have the original sales receipt to prove that I paid for it in full. Note the mileage (and cleanliness) may alter slightly as I will be using it occasionally while it is up for sale. Please don't let the mileage put you off - I unfortunately have a habit of riding my bike at any given opportunity rather than staring at it like a fashion accessory in the garage! The engine is barely run in at this mileage :-) Pictures do not do it justice – the first genuine viewer to see this bike will buy it.
Genuine reason for sale – I have just put a deposit down on a Ducati Panigale so the Blade is going to fund this purchase to an extent.
I have meticulously looked after this bike its whole life. and as such it's in absolutely brilliant condition. looking like it has rolled off the factory floor! Thanks in part to the Ventureshield paintwork protection system applied from the word go the bike isn't covered in stone chips like most other Blades I have seen appear to suffer with. It comes with a full Honda service history. warranty until March 2014 and tax until March 2014. MOT not required until 1st March 2015. This Blade has been superb. and so enjoyable to own. It is so easy to ride and despite its awesome power it doesn't bite like some of the other bikes out there apparently do! It has never missed a beat. has been abroad twice and to Wales twice on long trips. seen some occasional commuting and has been used to conduct my observed riding duties as an Observer for the IAM. The bike has always been ridden with utmost mechanical sympathy; i. e. allowed to warm up fully before any spirited riding. smooth gear changing and not thrashing the proverbial out of the engine.
New for 2012 were service intervals of 8. 00 miles as opposed to 4. 00 miles previously. I carried out my own oil and filter change in between main dealer services for my own benefit and to keep the bike in tip top condition (I have receipts for oil and filters as proof). The last service. the major one. was conducted at just over 16. 00 miles. so you have peace of mind in knowing that the next service is not due until 24. 00 miles and is only a minor one.
A few tasteful but basic modifications include:
• Yoshimura R-77 full carbon slip on with removable baffle and infill panel (installed in June this year) • Datatool System 4 Red Thatcham approved CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser • Stomp Grips on the tank and HRC tank pads fitted • VentureShield paintwork protection • +2 teeth on rear sprocket (best mod by far) to shorten gear ratio a little and increase acceleration. Much more useable on the road. Besides. who needs the potential to do 100mph in first anyway?! • To go with the above. a Speedo Healer from Healtech was fitted and calibrated to read as per GPS to realign the speedometer reading • Triboseat grippy pillion seat over-cover to ensure pillions remain on the bike. • Upgraded dipped and full beam bulbs to some ultra bright 6000K colour temperature bulbs to match the LED sidelights and give better visibility • Optimate trickle charger adapter socket installed • Suspension setup carried out for more compliant road use.
Mechanically. the bike has:
• A brand new chain. front and rear sprocket just fitted a week ago • Fitted with the new Michelin Pilot Power 3 tires with 190/55 rear – fantastic tires wet or dry! • New rear tire less than 1000 miles ago • Front tire has perhaps 1000 miles remaining before requiring replacement • New front and rear OEM brake pads recently installed. • Full C-ABS system bleed just carried out last weekend (I do this myself as per the Honda guidelines – not just a basic bleed) so the brakes are mint and work perfectly. as they always have done. • The bike has never been dropped. scratched or crashed.
The only scratch on the bike is on the rear end plastic where I took a pillion out and their boots scuffed the paintwork. Since then I've always covered the area with white insulation tape so it wasn't made worse. There's basically a tiny mark on both sides where the paint was rubbed away in a small area. but it's not obvious at all; just thought I'd rather mention it. Otherwise it is in truly exceptional condition and rides perfectly.
Now for the T's and C's:
Test rides will only be allowed if the full asking price in cash is in my hand. and with proof of third party insurance on a 'you bend it. you bought it' agreement. Sorry if this seems a lot to ask but it's at my risk otherwise. No timewasters or test pilots please. If you are genuinely interested in this model of bike you will likely know the main facts and figures. hence why I haven't listed everything the bike has as standard or what power it makes etc.
The bike is available for viewing either weekday evenings or weekends. and I have a well lit garage in case it is dark. I will be sad to see the bike go as I've so many amazing memories during my time of ownership. but it has to make way for the new bike. If you're interested please get in touch and arrange to see it – you won't regret it!
Payment terms can be discussed when required.
Thanks very much for looking.
