Vespa Ape Van, Piaggio Tuk Tuk, Micro Car, Scooter, Barn Find

VESPA APE (PIAGGIO) 150cc CLASSIC SCOOTER VAN 1967 - 1970This Ultra Rare one off Vehicle was discovered dry stored in a barn in the South of France in 2007 and is now in the UK available "For Sale"!
My intention was to restore this Vespa APE to show condition by having it sprayed in two tone (Navy Blue Below mid base section with a Pale Blue upper section and have it signwritten to use it as a Unique City Advertising / Delivery Vehicle for my business. However. I simply don't have the time or the right contacts to get it done properly and now need the room to store my Ducati during the winter.
Having just done 22.493 kilometers (thats about 14.000 miles) this Vespa Ape come from a warm climate in the South of France - It needs a very light restoration to the body. as there is no rot and very minimal surface rust. The engine (situated under the lift up seat) turns over manually. But ideally it will require a specialist Vespa repair / restoration guy to strip and rebuild it properly (Parts for Vespa Apes are easy to source from ebay.it (EBAY ITALY). The brakes are untested. but i imagine they will also need new pads & calipers stipping down / restoring by someone with Vespa / Piaggio or Lambretta experience.
This Vespa has a unique blue painted professionally built covered van / truck body fitted to the rear (possibly originally used for paper / litter collection or was used in or around a factory complex for delivering goods). The body is made of strong galvanised steel with double height drop side openings on both sides. There are gullwing style roof doors (please see pictures). all fully hinged opening side & roof sections allowing easy access for loading of goods. Body simply unbolts if you wish to fit a lighter or alternative body (Tuk-Tuk Passenger body / Pizza delivery / Coffee Vending / Sandwich Round / Restaurant delivery body)
Comes complete with 2 very rare 2nd hand doors (Right & Left) for the cab body. these were hard to find and were imported from Italy (they require a light restoration and spray job). Also comes with 3 brand new white wall tyres. 2 brand new OEM Vespa Ape indicator lamps. 2 new Vespa OEM Wing Mirrors and 2 brand new OEM Vespa Ape Chrome badges for the Cab body and a brand new driver / passenger leatherette seat. Just needs a UK speedo sourcing & fitting and a light restore as mentioned above.Once restored it will be worth approximately £10.000 to £12.000
This 1967 Classic Vespa Ape Scooter Van is a one off unique vehicle in the UK (YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER ESPECIALLY IN SUCH GREAT CONDITION THIS AGE) and will no doubt win many Classic Vehicle Shows. if you intend restoring it to show condition & taking it to Classic Car & Scooter shows!Alternately. would make a great Coffee / Sandwich Van or a great Advertising Delivery Vehicle for a Pizza Company or Italian Restaurant! - Imagine it painted in the colours of the Italian Flag signwritten with your company name!
