Triton Norton 1959

1959 layout with commando front wheel. 18" wheels. polished alloy manx type oil tank. fibreglass petrol tank treated with ethanol proof liner. New avon tyres. 650 triumph engine with Morgo 750 barrel and oil pump. handed concentric amal carbs and original Dunstall decibel exhausts. We prepare and race manx nortons and know next to nothing about tritons so please. no detailed questions ! We acquired the bike in a very tatty but untouched for nearly 40 years condition. It has been totally restored using all its original parts to the same standard we prepare our race bikes so all the hard groundwork is done. No crappy brackets etc. as per usual on tritons. No re- chroming has been done. its acceptable as it gives an age related patina. however if your into bling then it needs doing. The engine was in pieces with a new Morgo kit and carbs. for whatever reason they where never fitted. engine is totally rebuilt with new rings and all bearings (original rings were rusty) Norton center stand fitted with ingenious locking system. very few tritons retain this stand which is essential for removing either wheel. 2 pack paint job and tank is clearcoated. The original dynamo is water damaged and we haven't replaced it. however. these can be purchased new in 6 or 12 volt form. All levers and clip-ons are original ( no indian copies) No V5 but does have frame and engine numbers. Basically. the bike is 95 % done especially all the hard work. leaving any potential owner the opportunity to add their personal touch which is basically what tritons are all about ! The bike has been road tested and goes like a rocket and handles like a manx. starts first kick and is extremely mechanically quiet. For more info please phone 0151 425 4678 and ask for Ian or Geoff.
