Description
I am selling my GS.
Reducing the toy collection to buy a house. Dismal but true!
I put this scooter thru a nut and bolt restoration in 2009. it has done 2000/3000 miles a year since then.
I do not home service so the scooter has always been professionally maintained and MOTd by the most excellent Ricky Pitstop of Chadwell Heath at the start of each season.
It has a T5 motor. chrome tool box and same colour sprayed bubbles with working Jag lights (I am keeping the chrome bubbles in the pictures). It has white walls. two spares on board. a three in one backrack and rear crash bars.
It has full service record since I took ownership and even a mock-up of the original purchase invoice (done for a show).
I have used it for several rallies over the last few years and it has never let me down as those who know me (Pete from Foresters SC) will confirm. The scoot has been featured in a couple of professional photo-shoots. The most recent for a hair stylists in Fitzrovia (hence the photo with the models).
So being a scooterist since 1978 I kind of know how buying and selling scooters works.
So here goes with the FAQs:
1. No I did not have the restoration done in Vietnam. The scooter a 100% bamboo and coke can free zone.
2. No I do not have the original engine knocking around in the garage that you can have for nothing (and there is no Van Gogh knocking around in my attic either!).
3. No it is not a bitsa GS made up from lookalike parts from Spain and Cambodia. It is a real one with a T5 motor. To some people that matters a lot.
4. While selling the scooter is my preference and my plan. I don't NEED to sell it. So if it does not reach what I see as value. it will stay in the garage until March and be listed again. Simples. 5. The scooter has never been "kitted up" so the harmonious balance of a standard engine mean the brakes and suspension all feel how they should and are in good shape.
6. Not being "Desperate of Brentwood" telling me you have three grand in cash literally right there in your hand and that you can be round inside the hour. wont help either of us!
7. Of course you can come round and see it before you buy. Bring a magnifying glass. an expert or whatever. Scrutiny is good. Just mail me via Motorcycles-for-sale to make an appointment.
