THIS MACHINE WAS SUPPLIED TO HAP ALZINA. THE USA WEST COAST DISTRIBUTOR FOR THE BSA FACTORY. WE CAN CONFIRM FROM THE VMCC RECORDS AND FROM THE BSA GOLD STAR DATING CERTIFICATE No. 0152 THAT THIS MACHINE LEFT THE FACTORY ON 5th JULY 1963 AND WAS SUPPLIED WITH NO HEADLIGHTS IN SCRAMBLER TRIM.
THE ENGINE AND FRAME ARE THE ORIGINAL FACTORY PAIRING
This machine has undergone a total rebuild in our workshops from a bare frame up. The frame was blasted and then painted. the forks were rebuilt using new brass bushes. seals and new rubber gaiters and chrome slide covers fitted. Correct touring spec headlight brackets were fitted and a Lucas headlight. ammeter and switch. The Smiths rev counter RC83 and speedometer SC5301 were freshly rebuilt. The petrol tank. tool box and oil tank were repainted. The chain guard. front & rear mudguards were all new old stock items. New shock absorbers were fitted. The Akront deep flanged alloy wheels were rebuilt and fitted with polished stainless steel spokes and avon Mk 11 speedmaster front and rear tyres. brakes linings renewed where required and new bearings fitted. All cables on the machine were replaced with new. Gearbox was overhauled by Harold Gardner with new bearings and seals being fitted as required. The clutch is a four spring type. The engine was stripped by A Ratcliffe. crankshaft was checked & overhauled with new bearings fitted. oilways cleaned and oil pump renewed with an SRM unit. New pistons were fitted. Cylinder head was checked. cleaned. new valves fitted and valve timing done. The magneto and dynamo were overhauled by APL Magnetos. The Amal carburrettor is brand new. correct model and is jetted for RGS. New oil pipes. clips. fuel pipes and taps fitted. New siamese exhaust system fitted. The seat fitted is a brand new Wassell Gold Star replica seat. Correct Altette horn fitted. The touring drop sports handlebars and controls were all new. Fitted with main stand. The motorcycle was started and checked over for leaks and performance. All new nuts. bolts and fastenings were replaced and need to be checked for tightness after use.
