Description
A genuine Ducati 900SS Final Edition one of the ones sent to Japan and brought back to the UK via Northern Ireland
Fair condition. bodywork has a few scratches and blemishes. wheels recent satin black powder coated.
the speedometer is showing extremely low mileage 3986 and is verified when you see how clean certain parts are the timing belts and oil and filter were change around 50 miles previous. as not knowing the history of the engine I prefer to change and dispense with unknown quantities
immaculate mechanical condition. very rare motorcycle
History of the FE - The last production run of the carburettor-equipped SS before it was replaced in 1998. Based around the 900SS Superlight. the FE has special cosmetics. a tuned engine. The special silver single-seat bodywork comes wrapped around a modified engine. with race-style high-level exhaust pipes to improve cornering clearance. The triple clamp of each FE is fitted with a consecutively numbered commemorative plaque.
Features include carbon-fibre clock surround. and in addition to the mudguard fitted the original front mudguard (Broken at the mounting area) and not fitted.
Limited to just 300 bikes in America and 500 in Europe. the 900SS FE is the last of the 2nd generation SuperSports to be produced by the Bologna factory.
the vehicle is on Northern Irish plates and transfer documents. it is not the best pristine example but I have ridden this round a track and it performs reasonably well.
the battery overflow pipe had come off some time in its lifetime and has marked the frame paintwork on that side.
I also had the chassis and engine numbers verified by Ducati as the Japanese one that went for their market. for someone wishing to collect a rare motorcycle with very low mileage and fully renovate it is probably a good vehicle to start with.
I have no history of the vehicle prior to me owning it and contact with the persons that were in the chain previously to me proved fruitless.
