Here I have a beautiful unmolested CB34GS Gold Star in full touring trim. Registered for the first. and only time in September 1955.
The bike is truly original. evidenced by the factory bench test sheet showing the power output of the engine. She has some interesting papers in her history file. including the original card board log book. confirming VIN numbers. The Vintage Motorcycle Club have verified the provenance of this bike. providing a certificate to confirm.
The engine is fit with good compression. Runs well. pulls like a train. and sounds only like a proper Gold Star can. Everything about the bike is good. and can only be described as excellent.
Question is would you want to keep her in touring trim. or convert to Clubman's spec. Hard one!
The beauty of the Gold Star's is they can be both in no time at all.
Just in to stock I don't expect her to stay too long. which is a pity as it graces my shop.
How to price her? Well if clip on's were fitted comparing her with other Gold Stars for sale here I could ask £20k.
Does that mean touring trim reduces the value. not at all. But. I'm not asking £20k. I'm not asking £17k I'm offering this truly rare original Gold Star with its factory papers. old card board log book. and Vintage Club confirmation of provenance for £15995. 00
Clip on handlebars if you prefer can be fitted. Personally I would keep her as she is. it's your choice.
