Description
Up for sale is my Ariel HS Mk3. a rare model nowadays. Having the correct matching engine/frame numbers [as verified by the Ariel Club archivist]. this bike started life as a Mk1. i. e. in scrambles trim. with knobbly tyres. open pipe. no lights etc. I started the build with only the frame. so decided it would make a good road bike as I had no intention of riding it off-road. I fitted 19" rims both ends to give me a good tyre choice. 7126 miles covered since return to the road 3 years ago. so all components virtually as new.
Only genuine Ariel components used in the engine and gearbox.
Electrics are now 12volt. with the dynamo going to an electronic regulator. then charging a Cyclon battery. This system has been completely reliable. with excellent lights.
The Hagon shocks have 90lb springs fitted.
The alloy tank I had custom made. Both rims are flangeless alloy. Nearly all the fasteners are stainless. as are the mudguards and spokes. Custom made seat by an Ariel Club member. New Monobloc 389 carb and rebuilt mag fitted. I made the nearside pillion footrest hanger[not originally fitted to this model] as I have used a pannier set on this bike. The bosses for pillion rests are there as well if needed.
I've just fitted a new rear tyre [Avon Roadrider 350x19]. The pancake filter on the carb is not original. but Burgess replicas are now available for around £130. I will get an MOT done if needed; historic tax till June 2014. Period '56 registration with V5C and buff log book. This bike is not concours condition as I ride it frequently.
Please ask any questions. £100 deposit secures your purchase. the balance in cash on collection please. Any overseas buyers to organise their own shipping. Would be up for a part exchange on a late A65T. ready to go. cash my way.
