Description
Hello,This is a relisting for my Ariel HT5 trials bike. Apologies if you were watching previously, I got cold feet and decided not to sell initially, but in reality I have decided that the bike needs a new home as its just not getting the use it deserves.
Built in 1956 and with the old buff log book and a modern V5c. It has its original number plate LNL19. I bought this bike off Sammy Miller in 2020 just before lockdown hit and intended to use it in pre-65 trials with my father, but work and other things have intervened and I have not really used it other than on odd occasions, so it needs to find a new home with someone who will love the bike and use it as it was intended. I believe Sammy had bought the bike in as part of a bigger collection, some of which he was selling on.
It is not in showroom condition and is obviously 60+ years old, but looks lovely in the maroon colour and is in good working order. It is quite happy to start up easily and run up through all gears without issue. It has graced the local VMCC stand at our village show, as a good solid example of British craftsmanship. I have used this off road and on and it has a very tight turning circle and great low down torque. It just ticks away when left to idle. I can supply video of it running if needed. Obviously these age bikes are sold as seen but I can supply additional photos if needed and in my view its a great bike.
Its tax exempt, and doesn't need an MoT.
It could do with a new set of trials tyres, but aside from that has had new oil etc. and is good to go.
I am not desperate to sell and will happily keep the bike as part of my collection, rather than accept silly offers. Deposit needed on sale and full payment before collection.
thanks for looking.
Steve
