Description
Suzuki GS1000SN. I carried a full nut and bolt rebuild of this bike when I first got it. It was a dismantled pile of parts. and the frame had rotted so a replacement frame was bought and checked before high gloss powder-coating by Triple S. The engine had new camchain. tensioner. rings and light honing ( SEP ). cylinder head full overhaul ( SEP again ). crankshaft inspection ( SEP. who else ) and all the seals and gaskets before being rebuilt.
The carbs were fully ultrasonic cleaned and rebuilt with kits from NRP in Manchester.
All the key hard to get parts are here : screen trim. end trims. binnacle edging. perfect condition dashboard with lettering still present on the warning lamps. correct plastic chrome indicators ( all 4 in excellent condition). correct S model original Suzuki seat ( imported NOS from USA at big cost ). chrome grab rail with end bungs. chrome lifting handle. seat under trim. chrome tail surround ( in A1 condition) and genuine Suzuki embossed engine decals. Original adjustable damping shock absorbers. still work ok. all adjusters free and no leaks. Both exhaust heat shields in place.
The bodywork was painted by JBS. using original Suzuki brochures for the paint lines and their own database for the colours. It looks superb 10 years later. The front mudguard was imported from the US because its the only way to get a rust free bare guard to start work with.
The exhaust system is all original Suzuki. no re-chroming. bought NOS from Suzuki Simon. All the instruments and the clock work. no cracked glass. and the indicator self cancelling unit has been known to work. but I've never known 1 to work 100% of the time. The non-standard bits are : electrex combined regulator/rectifier unit. Dyna S electronic ignition unit and black coated braided brake lines. These are all features aimed at improving reliability because this is a bike which gets ridden. She's been on show at VJMC Uttoxeter alongside my Kawasaki Z1R. and she's won prizes at the Nab's Head VJMC show and Lotherton hall. You also might have seen her on the IOM during Manx week.
The bike will come with a collection of manuals and brochures as well as the history of MOT certs. etc. Cash on collection. Thanks for looking.
