Triumph Speed Triple 2011 - Unique 500,000th machine produced

The re-emergence of Triumph has been one of British manufacturing industry's relatively few success stories of recent times. an achievement all the more remarkable when one considers that the company has grown from nothing to rank alongside the best from Japan and Europe in only 20 years. In many market sectors Triumph's offerings are recognised as the finest available and none more so than the iconic Speed Triple. which has regularly come out top in group tests of 'factory street-fighters' ever since its introduction in 1994. As one of Triumph's most successful models. it was only fitting that a Speed Triple should be the landmark 500. 00th motorcycle to roll off the production line since the Hinckley factory opened in 1991.

To commemorate this historic occasion Triumph gave this machine a bespoke red. white and blue livery at the behest of comedian and motorcycle enthusiast Ross Noble. who coincidentally began his career as a stand-up comic in '91. In May 2011 Ross set off to ride the special Speed Triple around Britain. starting his 'Sit Down Tour' at the factory before visiting Triumph dealers in England. Scotland and Wales. Quoted in Motor Cycle News. he said: 'I'll be riding a great British bike around Great Britain. which will be great. ' 'Tweeters' were able to follow Ross' progress on Twitter and suggest changes to his route.

After the Tour. the Speed Triple was sold with Ross and the Triumph factory in attendance at Bonham's Auction at the Festival of Speed in aid of 'Riders for Health'.
