Yamaha TZ250A (TZ350G engine. carbs and exhaust currently fitted)

Everything on the chassis barring the front mudguard and seat are 100% original Yamaha and in superb condition. not restored just in superb original condition.

This bike was purchased in Visalia. California by a UK car dealer in 1995. apparently it was part of the previous owners estate and was spotted in the back of a garage during a car purchase.

The car dealer was informed that the bike was an Ex Kel Carruthers team bike and had been raced at Daytona.

I can't be sure this was a Kel Carruthers team bike as I have no proof. but it was bought quite close to Don Vesco's shop in California and has all the traits of the type of alterations Kel was making on the bikes at that time. The frame has been altered at the rear and the rear shocks installed at an angle. the bike also had the factory Yamaha US Full Fairing fitted to it which apparently was used on most US Team Bikes as ridden by Kel Carruthers. Kenny Roberts. Jarno Saarinen. Don Castro etc. in the 70's according to RAVE motorsport who apparently have a certified ex Kenny Roberts bike. you can see it on their web site.

I intended to race the bike. hence the installation of the TZ350G engine. pipes and carbs

The engine is a TZ350G which has been fully rebuilt. new Nikosil on the barrels. new pistons. Hitachi ignition. new clutch plates and runs perfectly. The TZ is currently fitted with a pattern TZ250/350 fairing in order to clear the 350 pipes I really didn't want to cut up the original one which I still have and is included with the bike.

I also have the original TZ250A pipes. carbs and some crank cases that were supplied to me with the bike.

The bike is immaculate and well sorted and is ready to parade or race.
