Description
For sale my superb Z900 A4. If you want a nice useable Zed this bike is well worth a look. location is Market Harborough between Leicester and Northampton.
Imported from Oregon USA in 1999. the overall condition is excellent and it runs and rides very nicely. I have owned the bike for a year and have clocked up 360 miles so far. only on sunny days. It's a pleasure to ride and gets attention wherever you go. even non-bikers like it; to quote the dealer I bought it from. "it is a very original bike. not an old dog that has been 'restored'. "
It has just gone through the Mot with no problems. the only advisory was for a slightly smaller number plate than standard (I also have a standard size plate). The paintwork and shiny bits including forks are in excellent condition. some parts have been renewed. such as the rear shocks. and the wheels have new stainless spokes laced to the original chrome rims. The exhausts are genuine Kawasaki in very good overall condition. the only slight blemish being one silencer has a couple of holes at the end (see photo). which could be repaired. You have to get your head down low to notice this. so it does not detract from the overall look of the bike. The frame is in very good order. although there are a few spots where the black paint has worn off. This again could be improved but I quite like the original look. Gear change is positive and all controls work smoothly.
Tyres are good. rear is part worn but will probably last another year or two at least. One disc upfront which was common for the US. it is adequate for normal riding. No toolkit but comes with original Assembly & Preparation Manual. original Owners Manual and a Z Power parts manual. also the original Oregon plate is included. One key. I will try to get another one cut but I keep forgetting.
There is a fair bit of history since the bike was imported in 1999. including every MOT certificate. Mileage on the first MOT in October 1999 was 6838. so it's done just over 10. 00 miles in the last 14 years. There is no history from the US. but I think the overall condition suggests that the current low mileage could be genuine. The bike had a full service a year ago so if I was keeping it I would just do an oil & filter change for this season.
Reason for sale? I would like to keep it but I have too many bikes and am trying to thin out my collection. I always wanted a Z900 and I have enjoyed owning and riding this one. but I have got other projects and need the space (and the money). Priced at £7500 which I think is fair for the condition. With a new MOT and tax to end of Sept. you can ride and enjoy this Zed like I did. plus there is scope to improve it further.
Prefer cash. buyer collects. no test rides without proof of insurance. licence and asking price in my hand. I am happy to take you for a spin on the back. in fact I would prefer that. I am a private seller and obviously there is no warranty and no returns.
Please ask any questions but if you want to discuss the size of the grommets on the Z model range can you try somebody else. Serious enquiries only please. send me a message via Motorcycles-for-sale and I will reply. For security reasons I may ask to meet you in Market Harborough before giving you my address. please don't be offended (yes. it is on the map).
Let me know if I have missed anything. cheers for looking. Simon
Haynes manual also included
